What You’ll Do:
- Lead the Kitchen: Oversee the daily operations of our busy cafés, ensuring top-notch service and scrumptious meals for both adults and children.
- Get Creative: We want your fresh ideas! Bring your innovative recipes and culinary flair to our kitchen, especially if you love baking delightful cakes and biscuits to tantalize our customers.
- Plan Menus: Collaborate with us to create a diverse array of healthy meal options, ensuring that every plate is both nourishing and satisfying.
- High Volume, High Quality: During peak times like half-term and summer, you’ll rise to the challenge of delivering quality meals in large quantities, while keeping an eye on budget efficiency.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Motivated Culinary Artist: You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are dedicated to maintaining high cooking standards.
- Customer Service Champion: Your ability to connect with a diverse range of customers makes you a perfect fit for this customer-facing role.
- Safety & Cleanliness Advocate: You understand the importance of food safety, hygiene, and maintaining a pristine kitchen.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Cook and a relevant training certificate or City & Guilds qualification are essential.

The Government has confirmed plans to reorganise local government across Lancashire. From April 2028, the current 15 councils will be replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, East and West Lancashire.
If you're successful in your application, you'll initially join Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council. As part of the reorganisation, your employment will transfer to the new East Lancashire council from April 2028.
