We’re looking for an inspiring and experienced worker to join our Lifelong Families Team. This is a chance to join a new and exciting new team, working with children to achieve permanence via adoption and SGO.
About the Role
The role of the Family Support Worker on the Lifelong Families Team, plays a pivotal role in ensuring that children who are cared for by Blackburn with Darwen Children’s Services are supported to achieve permanence, either via adoption or special guardianship.
The successful postholder will support Social Workers in preparing children for adoption/permanence, completing direct work and supporting children and their carers using trauma-informed practice.
This will include completing direct work with children and supporting carers (prospective adopters/Kinship carers) to understand the impact of attachment and trauma on children’s development and support them to achieve permanence.
